The Art of Elegance

Style on Stage – The Art of Elegance è la prestigiosa mostra curata da Massimiliano Capella e Natalia Metelitza, promossa dal noto Diaghilev International Festival of Art e dal Museo di Stato del Teatro e della Musica di San Pietroburgo (Russia).
Style on Stage ha presentato per la prima volta in Russia la produzione teatrale di alcuni tra i più grandi stilisti italiani contemporanei ripercorrendo, attraverso costumi, bozzetti di scena, figurini e video di numerosi spettacoli, uno dei momenti più affascinanti del teatro internazionale moderno.
216 i pezzi esposti (85 abiti e 131 tra schizzi e bozzetti) provenienti da collezioni straniere, case di moda, grandi teatri nazionali e internazionali e collezioni private, abiti creati dagli stilisti delle più famose case di moda italiane per i teatri europei e americani: Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, New York City Ballet, e per grandi artisti come Mirella Freni, Raina Kabaivanska, Joaquin Cortes, Kiri Te Kanawa, June Anderson. Tra i pezzi esposti il meno recente risale al 1975, un kimono realizzato da Roberto Capucci indossato da Raina Kabaivanska in diversi recital e i più recenti abiti creati da Valentino Garavani per il New York City Ballet nel 2012.

Style on Stage è vincitrice del prestigioso premio Museum Olympus Award come migliore mostra russa dell’anno 2014.

Style on Stage / The Art of Elegance promoted by the famous Diaghilev International Festival of Art and the Saint Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music.
Style on Stage / The Art of Elegance was curated by Massimiliano Capella and Natalia Metelitza and promoted by the Diaghilev International Festival of Art and the Saint Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music.
For the first time in Russia it showcased the theatrical production of some of the best contemporary Italian stylists. Costumes, sketches, fashion plates and videos of numerous theatrical shows took visitors on a journey through one of the most exciting times for modern international theatre. 216 pieces were displayed (85 garments and 131 sketches and drawings) from foreign collections, fashion houses, large theatres and national and international private collections, created by the designers of the most famous Italian fashion houses for European and American theatres: the Rome Teatro dell’Opera, the Teatro San Carlo – Naples, New York City Ballet, and for great artists like Mirella Freni, Raina Kabaivanska, Joaquin CortesKiri Te Kanawa and June Anderson. The oldest exhibit dated back to 1975 and is a kimono created by Roberto Capucci, worn by Raina Kabaivanska in several recitals, and the most recent were costumes created by Valentino Garavani for the New York City Ballet in 2012.

Style on Stage won the Museum Olympus Award as the best exhibition in Russia in 2014.
